EMG-22 is developed on the basis of time-of-flight mass-spectrometer and used
for the estimation of uranium hexafluorine isotopic composition. The device
provides automatic analysis of isotopic composition either at the laboratory
or within the technological cycle.
At the beginning of 2001 special tests of experimental model of EMG-22 took place
at the Ural electrochemical complex (Novouralsk, Sverdlovskaya obl.)
An established 6-channel sample preparation system running from EMG-22 was tested.

The hardware of EMG-22 ensures:
- Automatic probes and standards commutation in accordance with the given algorithm
- Percent estimation of gas-composition

- Automatic diagnostics of all units
Using mass-spectrum panoramic-view mode one can clearly see full data on isotopic
composition, including information on all the admixtures present in the particular sample.

The full-cycle time of a single sample analysis is 3 minutes. Estimation begins when
U235/U238 indicators has stable exponents. Such algorithm ensures high stability and
accessibility of the analysis results.

ENG-22 is a device of a special manufacturing design, it is solid and combined from electronic blocks of
modern high-tech characteristics.
The weight, dimensions and power consumption of EMG-22 are much lower than that of
MI-1201 AGM-01 mass-spectrometers (produced by PO "Electron", Sumi) presently
utilized at the Ural electrochemical complex.
The results of the described test were presented at the seminar organized by Co-ordination
Council of Technologies and Science of the Atom Energetic Ministry of Russian Federation
at the field of mass-spectral equipment and were highly valued by specialists present there.
